Dystonia

Dystonia is a prolonged involuntary muscle spasm that can occur in any muscle of the body. Dystonic conditions are often neurological in origin, but may also be caused by typical antipsychotic medications such as Thorazine. Cannabinoids are reported to be beneficial in controlling many types of spastic disorders. Medical experts in both America and Great Britian have expressed interest in further studies of cannabinoids in controlling spasticity.

Great blog! Is your theme custom made or did you download it from somewhere? A theme like yours with a few simple adjustements would really make my blog jump out. Please let me know where you got your theme. Cheers

I suffered a major crush injury in 1976 when a fork-lift truck backed into me. This caused several fractures to my pelvis and lumbar spine.
Since then I have endured many episodes of crippling muscle spasms in the lumbar region.
I cannot tolerate anti-spasmodic drugs or anti-inflammatory type from the established chemical/drugs industry. This is due to a stomach/oesophagus condition called Barrets oesophagus.(Maybe even caused by this type of drug in the first place)
I have found relief from Botox injected intramuscularly, but the frequency needed (every 3-4 months makes this option far too expensive under our National Health Service (Britain) and I cannot afford to pay for it.
I have been addicted to Codiene Phosphate for a long time now as it is all my Doctor can prescribe to immediately sort out my discomfort.
Ther ONLY other safe, non toxic remedy available to me is Cannabis.
I have used Cannabis recreationally for 40 years or so but now rely on it for obtaining relief from these spasms and spasticity.
I am currently researching which variety is best for this condition.
Of course, the major drawback to this amazing plants benefits, is its current legal status.
I source my supply from fresh cultivars of which I have total control.
I won't get it on the street as there are too many risks and impurities in the product.
I prefer to know that I can control the process and believe that there is a better Yin and Karma to be had from going it alone.
Finally, thank you for putting this invaluable site together. I only wish I could get a certificate from my Doctor. He has said he doesn't have a problem with Cannabis and would have scripted me for Sativex spray, had it been available for him to do so.
